AISA to take part at the South African Book Fair

The Africa Institute of South Africa (AISA) division of the HSRC will be part of the South African Book Fair to be held in Cape Town from 13 – 15 June this year.

The Book Fair provides not only unique and interesting insights into the publishing world but also a premier platform for the literary, publishing and all stakeholders in the book value chain to gather and trade, network and exhibit.

The Fair promises visitors an exciting line up aimed at all book fans, young and old.

The event is organised by the Publishers Association of South Africa (PASA). PASA is the largest publishing industry body in South Africa, and is committed to creativity, literacy, the free flow of ideas and encouraging a culture of reading.

Aims & Objectives

  • Promote and protect the rights and responsibilities of the publishing sector in South Africa
  • Promote creativity, literacy, and the free flow of ideas
  • Establish and apply policy guidelines and codes of conduct
  • Examine policy or legislative proposals likely to affect publishing

The South African Book Fair is set to offer visitors the literary adventure of a lifetime. With over 120 events under one roof, and over 100 authors, illustrators, storytellers, book critics, puppet shows, book launches and book club brunches on offer, this year’s Fair is guaranteed not to disappoint.
