Every year the Publications Division recruits a publishing intern from either the University of Pretoria or the University of the Witwatersrand – the only two universities in South Africa that offer degrees in publishing studies. The position is advertised through the Publishers’ Association of South Africa (PASA) and, after an intense recruitment process, a candidate is identified and placed in the division for a period of 12 months during which they undergo experiential learning.
