AISA Resident Fellow Program

The Purpose of the Program

One of the objectives of AISA is to create space for debates or interaction between established or prominent African scholars and policymakers and other stakeholders, thus the AISA Resident Fellowship Program is intended to serve this purpose.

Duration

Each year AISA will award two Fellowships for the duration of two weeks each, and these Fellowships are during the months of March, June and September.

Eligibility

Visiting Fellows should be South African prominent scholars who wish to conduct research and writing at AISA for a limited period, or senior personnel, from either the public or private sectors. The latter may be people who during their time off from their work might be interested in research and participating in serious scholarly debates in a research institute land AISA will like to provide that space.

Expectations

During the two weeks at AISA the Visiting Fellow will be expected to conduct a seminar with the assistance of the hosting institute and also write a monograph.

Applications:

The application form, which is available online, should be completed and returned with short curriculum vitae, a letter of motivation, contact details of three referees, and an indication of availability.

Applications must be received at least two months before the start of each Fellowship.

Enquiries and applications should be addressed to:
