The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) along with AISA plan to host a joint conference on the Scramble for Africa and the marking of the anniversary of the Berlin (Kongo) conference in May 2011. A scientific committee for the event has been established and a call for papers has resulted in a number of submissions. The partnership with TUT is viewed as a strategic one by AISA and it is hoped that future engagements will build upon the strong foundation that has been formed in 2010/2011.
