The Ambassadorial Forum is AISA’s flagship project and continues to be part of a strategy to generate interest in African affairs in the country. AISA and the City of Tshwane (CoT) jointly host the Ambassadorial Forum on a monthly basis. This forum provides a platform for diplomats to present and discuss international relations issues pertinent to the countries they represent. Numerous ambassadors, high commissioners and diplomats have addressed this forum since it was relaunched in May 2008. AISA briefed 20 African diplomats at the Libyan embassy during its monthly meeting (July and November 2010), on the Africa Expo project, wherein African diplomatic missions in Tshwane are given an opportunity to showcase the tourism, investment and trade opportunities of their respective countries to the general public. In September 2010, Southern African Development Community (SADC) diplomats and European Union (EU) ambassadors in South Africa were participants in the SADC diplomatic training event hosted by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) and AISA. During the fourth quarter, AISA was the lead presenter for the political commission as well as South Sudan referendum and South Africa’s role in taking the process forward, at DIRCO.
