Operating Principles

The Institute works on the following key principles:

To endeavour to limit compensation of employees to 60% of the budget;
To collaborate with like-minded research institutions;
To seek synergy with relevant national departments in the work we undertake;
To outsource research to AISA’s network of collaborators, noted scholars and or experts as appropriate;
To assist in developing future researchers by contributing fieldwork experiences under research methodology courses at universities;
To encourage more young scholars to enter the social sciences arena by hosting and managing the AYGS programme;
To publish high quality outputs;
To maintain accreditation of the Africa Insight, which is a peer-reviewed journal;
To improve the quantity, quality and access to our Africana holdings; and
To be objective, transparent and strategic in all interactions with stakeholders
